Bernice Liu versus Lin Chi Ling Beauty

The ‘2007 China Fashion Awards’ was held last night in Shanghai.Celebrities from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea attended the prestigious event, including, Vicky Zhao, Liza Wang, Bernice Liu, Gaile Lok, Lin Chi Ling, Lun Mei Kwai, Sakai Noriko, Lee Jun Ki and Joe Cheng.

Despite the freezing cold weather at 6pm, the female celebrities slowly made their way down the red carpet, hoping to steal the spotlight.

Bernice Liu, with her curvy body and Taiwanese top model, Chiling Lin, both wore low cut gowns, hence bringing the temperature of the venue to a high.

Bernice Liu, who was wearing a Gucci frock and over $1 million of sponsored jewellery, was obviously ready to win the spotlight.

Shiina Ringo Writes for TOKIO

shiina ringoTOKIO’s next single “Amagasa” is a collaboration with musician Shiina Ringo.

Shiina Ringo wrote and composed the song, which is scheduled for release in September.

“Amagasa” has been chosen as the theme song to the NTV drama series “Yasuko to Kenji.”

Premiering this Saturday, the drama stars TOKIO member Matsuoka Masahiro.

This isn’t the first time that TOKIO has worked with a notable artist for their music.

Kuninaka Ryoko, Tokito Saburo to Star in Tengoku no Soup

kuninaka ryokoThis fall, WOWOW will broadcast a drama special titled “Tengoku no Soup,” based on a book by writer Matsuda Michiko.

Matsuda Michiko, who generally writes nonfiction, is also known as the first wife of the late actor Matsuda Yusaku.

“Tengoku no Soup” follows an OL ( Kuninaka Ryoko ) who has to take care of her sick mother, but every day she visits restaurants seeking out a certain soup.

Her only clue is a drawing left by her sister ( Igawa Haruka ).

One day during her search, she encounters a chef ( Tokito Saburo ) who has lost his wife and son, and a relationship between them unfolds.

Ishibashi Anna Selected as Victor Koshien Poster Girl

This year’s Victor Koshien Poster model has been announced.

16-year-old actress Ishibashi Anna, who made her debut after winning the 2006 Horipro Talent Scout Caravan, will be the face of the poster campaign (website here).

The coming Koshien, which starts on August 2, is the 90th iteration of the tournament.

Shibasaki Kou, Fukuyama Masaharu Do Another Galileo Song

The Shibasaki Kou - Fukuyama Masaharu collaboration known as KOH+ is back with a new song.

The pair previously did the theme song for the drama series “Galileo,” which they co-starred in last year.

With the series getting a movie this fall, they naturally are doing another song, a love ballad titled “Saiai.”

Nakai Masahiro of SMAP Chosen as Olympics Caster

nakai masahiroSMAP’s Nakai Masahiro has once again been selected by TBS to serve as the main caster for its Olympics coverage, making it his third consecutive appointment to that role.

Along with that comes the announcement that SMAP will be singing the theme song, titled “Kono Toki, Kitto Yume Janai.”

Written and composed by Hi-Fi CAMP, the song will be SMAP’s 43rd single.

“Kono Toki” goes on sale August 13, the same day that Japan’s baseball team faces Cuba in the opening match of the Olympics.

Cuba ended up winning the gold medal in 2004, while Japan took home the bronze.

Tony Leung and Carina Lau released one of their wedding photos to quench fans’ wedding pictures curiosity on Sunday, one day before the Hong Kong couple’s much-discussed wedding in Bhutan.

The photo shows the star couple wearing red gowns standing in front of a lush backdrop. Leung and Lau began shooting their wedding photos shortly after their arrival in Bhutan last week, the Hong Kong-based Wen Wei Po reported. Places featured in their wedding album include Bhutan’s royal palace.

Ikeuchi Hiroyuki Cast in HK Martial Arts Film

ikeuchi hiroyukiActor Ikeuchi Hiroyuki is appearing in his first foreign film, having been cast in a Hong Kong movie directed by Wilson Yip.

The movie, which has a tentative English title of “Yip Man,” is a semi-documentary about the life of martial arts master Yip Man, known as the teacher of Bruce Lee and many others.

Ikeuchi Hiroyuki plays a Japanese military officer named Miura who eventually has a showdown with Yip Man, played by Donnie Yen.

Ikeuchi Hiroyuki is reportedly the only Japanese actor appearing in the film.

Ikeuchi Hiroyuki shot his scenes in Shanghai during April and May, after being offered the part only two weeks earlier.

Tamaki Hiroshi Stars in Naval Epic Manatsu no Orion

tamaki hiroshiActor Tamaki Hiroshi is taking the lead in an upcoming suspense film titled “Manatsu no Orion,” directed by Shinohara Tetsuo.

Based on the novel “Raigeki Shindo Juukyuu-ten-go” by Ikegami Tsukasa, the movie is set near Okinawa during World War II.

While the main focus is a naval battle between a Japanese submarine and an American destroyer, the film also portrays the personal relationships among those involved.

Tamaki Hiroshi plays the warm-hearted captain of the submarine. His close friend and colleague is being played by CHEMISTRY’s Dochin Yoshikuni, who is making his acting debut with this role.

Coconut Musume’s Kimura Ayaka Marries Pro Golfer Tanihara Hideto

kimura ayaka nagateIt was revealed on Monday that former Coconuts Musume member Kimura Ayaka (26) is married to successful professional golfer Tanihara Hideto (29).

The two had been dating for half a year before registering their marriage on July 8. They plan to hold a ceremony and reception soon.

The couple first met last October at a pro-amateur golf tournament in Hyogo, where Kimura Ayaka is from. (Golf is one of Kimura Ayaka’s hobbies, with her best score said to be 108.)

After meeting, the two kept in touch, and they had their first date at the start of this year.

As a golfer, Tanihara Hideto has won 7 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour and has competed in international tournaments.
