8 Malaysians Battle In Patriotic Song Contest
KUALA LUMPUR: Eight Malaysians are in the final of RTM’s patriotic singing competition, Idola Patriotik 2007, which will be telecast live from Angkasapuri at 8.30pm tomorrow. The finalists are Zalina Kassim, 25, Emil Hamlyn ak Paul Diring, 28, Muhaimin Azzahan, 20, Rosmawati Mat Dali, 28, Syaifana Muhamed Subri, 21, Ahmad Falah Ahmad Bassim, 22, Fadzirul Nidzam Ishak, 27, and Farah Nabilla Noor Anuar, 27.
According to RTM broadcasting deputy director-general (programmes) Datuk Adilah Shek Omar, the competition received an encouraging response with more than 1,000 participants nationwide. Twenty-six were selected for the semi-finals. Besides a trophy and certificate each for the winners, the first prize winner will receive RM10,000, the runner-up RM5,000 and the third-placed winner RM3,000. There will also be consolation prizes of RM500 each.
Popular artiste Datuk Siti Nurhaliza will make a special appearance.
