‘Jernih Kasih Myra’ tells about a story of a man that keeps the secret from his first wife about his second marriage. Redzuan Hashim, as Hazrul has married with Myra (Haliza Misbun) at the border and kept the marriage as a secret from his first wife, Zakiah (Azizah Mahzan). Hazrul and Myra secret marriage has lasted up till 6 years and never been registered in the state religion department.

Problem occurs when Zakiah could smell about the marriage and forced Hazrul to divorce Myra.

“In a usual Malay drama, the story stops as soon as the secrets been unfold. However, Myra tries to overcome the conflict that happens after the divorce,” Haliza Misbun, producer and actress (Myra).

According to Haliza, this is because many difficult problems will arise after the divorce, if the marriage was done outside the country and didn’t registered it in the country. This also include the women’s rights as a second wife, that usually will not receive any money and child guardianship.

“This is because, in this country, if the second, third or fourth wife didn’t register in the country, they couldn’t get anything from the husband,” says Haliza.

Story and Morale

Through the drama, Hazlia hope that the viewers, expecially women would take precautions in deciding to get married. Even though getting married outside the country, they have to register their marriage. They have to make sure of this, because it related dearly to their own future.

‘Jernih Kasih Myra’ is a drama series contains of 13 episodes that will be aired starting 16 August 2007 at 11:00 am, every Mondays till Fridays in RTM1. Myra is facing with many difficulties after Hazrul divorced her. In the drama that was thought by Haliza, and the script was done by Rina Khan, Myra was left without any help after being divorced.

She lost her job (because she and Hazrul work in the same office), and their second child is having a cronic illness. Hazrul didn’t want to divorce his first wife because she is a wealthy women.

“Not only that he divorced his wife, he didn’t gave any money for their children and never take any responsibility about their child’s future,” told Haliza, 15 years in filming industry.

When asked whether she wants to be a director, Haliza Misbun told that she is better of being an actress or a producer.

“Acting is my interest, and producer is related to my profession, however, to be a director, it wouldn’t be an easy task, because need to take care from A to Z, including editing that is so time consuming,” Haliza said.
