At 3 a.m. on October 22nd, “Eat You Up” ranked third on the iTunes chart for “Top Dance Songs,” tenth on Amazon’s “Hot New Release in MP3 Downloads” and 21st on their “Today’s Top MP3 Songs” chart.
Consumers gave “Eat You Up” a five-star review on the Amazon website.
According to BoA’s agents at SM Entertainment, US netizens commented that her song was addictive and makes people want to dance.
Even Variety, a US entertainment magazine, wrote an article about BoA and her debut, referring to her as “one of the best female artists in Asia.”

On Sunday, Shimizu Shota held a free surprise concert in Shinjuku.
During the performance, he announced that he will be returning to New York’s famous Apollo Theater next month.
Shimizu Shota performed at the same venue last November, before he made his official debut under Sony in February with the single “HOME.”
At the time, he was still an unknown artist, but now he has been invited to make a special guest appearance as part of the Amateur Night event being held on November 19.

Actress Kang Hye Jung has been cast in an American film entitled “Wedding Palace.”
Kang Hye Jung’s management agency YG Entertainment said Kang has been cast in the film to be directed by Korean-American film director Christine Yoo.
The romantic comedy is about the life of a couple from two different cultural backgrounds who meet in Los Angeles and get married.
Korean-American actor Brian Tee, who appeared in “Fast and the Furious,” will also star.
The film will be produced by TU Productions, jointly founded by Yoo and Tee.

Zhang Ziyi, 29, was announced to be engaged by Vivi Nevo, 41, who is a multi-millionaire stockholder of Time Warner when the latter was attending the annual conference of Allen & Company in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, Xinhua quoted the Associated Press as reporting.
The wedding is being plan to take place in 2009.

Since his entry into the Hollywood movie market, singer and actor Rain has been a busy man.
He has finally announced that he will be returning to the music business this September.
Rain held an official event with his Japanese fan club, “The Cloud,” on June 30th at the Tokyo Dome JCB Hall.
He announced at the event that he would return as the “singing Rain” with an album for Asian fans “possibly as soon as September.”
At the fan meeting, Rain performed his hit songs, “I Do,” “How to Avoid the Sun” and “Instead of Saying Good-bye.”

Veteran actor Watanabe Ken is taking on the role of movie director.
In an interview with Sports Nippon, he said he is currently working on the script, though the plot details and even the genre are still being kept secret.
He commented that he has various acting gigs for the rest of this year, so he won’t be able to devote himself to directing until 2009.
While working on the 2006 movie “Letters From Iwo Jima” (directed by Clint Eastwood), Watanabe Ken had mentioned that he had become interested in directing.
That year, he also gained experience behind the scenes as the executive producer for “Memories of Tomorrow,” which he starred in.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has signed on Hollywood’s star-stuntman Spiro Razatos to make actor Akshay Kumar’s stunts extra special in his forthcoming film “Kambakht Ishq” even though it has come at an exorbitant price.
Spiro has displayed his action skills in blockbusters like “Vantage Point”, “Bad Boys 2″ and “21 Grams”.
He is also the man behind the pulsating stunts in two of the “Star Trek” series.
Although Nadiadwala refuses to divulge the price he has paid the stuntman, he said:
“He (Spiro) is worth it! ‘Kambhakt Ishq’ is not about stunts. It is about the life of a stuntman played by Akshay.

Ueto Aya has been chosen as the female lead in the Japanese dub of the “
Speed Racer” movie. She will provide the voice for Speed’s girlfriend Trixie, who is played by Christina Ricci.
Akanishi Jin has already been revealed as the voice of Emile Hirsch’s Speed.
The Japanese version will hit theaters on July 5.

The first half of the year is hardly over.
Yet Sarah Geronimo has earned a harvest of achievements not just for herself, but for the country as well.
The Popstar Princess, fresh from a highly-successful concert tours in the US and Canada, stayed behind in Los Angeles to do the vocals for a duet with Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough.
The duet, titled “I’ll Be There” and produced by Christian de Walden, will be part of Sarah’s latest CD to be released in July her birth month.
Sarah Geronimo recently swept the MYX Music Awards, where she won four trophies, the most by any nominee this year: Favorite Song for “Ikaw,” Favorite Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ.
