Musician Gackt will act in his first Hollywood film. The movie, titled “Bunraku,” is an action film written and directed by Guy Moshe, starring Josh Hartnett and Demi Moore.

The film is named after a type of traditional Japanese puppet theater, but the universe it is set in also draws inspiration from origami, video games, and other sources.

Hartnett plays a drifter on a quest for revenge.

Rain hasn’t eaten rice since the end of last year and has been living on chicken breast, raw fish, sweet potatoes and salad.

The 26-year-old Hallyu star eliminated carbs from his diet to prepare for his first Hollywood lead role in Ninja Assassin.

“Because of his diet and training, he has lost about 12 kilograms,” a J. Tune rep divulged.

The Energizer Bunny flew to Berlin, Germany on March 7 and has been busy preparing for his role ever since.

He starts training for his action sequences at 6am and only stops after a good 10 hours of practice.

Former Miss World Diana Hayden says she doesn’t have time to do Hindi films as she has been busy anchoring TV programmes in the US.

Diana Hayden, who inaugurated an aviation academy Sunday in Agra, said she did not have any film in hand right now but some day when she got the kind of role she wanted she would definitely do it.

She has featured in journalist-turned-director Khalid Mohammad’s “Tehzeeb” as a glamorous publisher.

While talking to students at the academy, she advised them not to copy anyone but develop their own style and personality.

Diana Hayden has no plans to get married in the near future.

This has sparked an uproar in the Korean-American community and some Korean expat groups are demanding a public apology from the talk show host.

The particular program dealt with women’s rising positions and female culture in various countries.

Mexico’s bold and stylish fashion was highlighted, along with the struggles of women in Ghana, Cuba’s passionate club scene as well as the relaxed and confident style of American women.

The movie ‘New York, I love You’ is an anthology film joining 12 different love stories all occurring in New York.

Each story will be 5 minutes long and each will be directed by 12 different directors. Other cast members so far include Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Juliette Binoche, Nick Nolte and Gena Rowlands.

Scarlett Johannson is rumored to be directing one of the short stories.

Director Mira Nair is going to cast the intense Irrfan Khan and Hollywood stunner Natalie Portman in her next directorial venture “Kosher Vegetarian”, a love story between a Gujarati man and a Jewish girl.

This is Irrfan Khan’s second movie with Nair. The earlier one was “The Namesake”, based on an eponymous novel by Jhumpa Lahiri, where he played a non-resident Bengali in US.

Irrfan Khan is ready to morph into a “Gujarati” Romeo. “But no accent this time. I’m very clear about that,” laughed the actor, who has just returned from Santa Monica in California after attending the Spirit Awards.

Korean-American Daniel Henney has hopped onto the mutant bandwagon and will be appearing in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The My Father and Seducing Mr. Perfect actor will portray Agent Zero, a member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills.

The 29-year-old joins the stellar cast of Hugh Jackman, will.i.am, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Lynn Collins and Dominic Monaghan. Hugh Jackman plays the titular character.

The flick, which is scheduled for worldwide release in May 2009, will be directed by Gavin Hood ( Tsotsi, Rendition ).

The Supreme Court Monday issued notices to a woman complainant on whose petition Hollywood star Richard Gere faces an arrest in India for kissing Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at a public function here last year.

On Gere’s plea against his possible arrest in India, a bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Justice R.V. Raveendran and Justice J.M. Panchal issued notice to Poonam Chand Bhandari, who had moved a Jaipur court against the allegedly obscene episode.

Jaipur’s Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Gupta April 27 last year issued the arrest warrant against Gere and Shetty on charges of “indecent representation of sexual activities” in public.

This may be one of the pricier packs of batteries ever to pass through Los Angeles International Airport.

Bai Ling was charged Monday with one count of petty theft for allegedly stealing two magazines and a package of AAA batteries from a gift shop at LAX on Feb. 13, shortly before she was scheduled to board a flight to New Mexico.

If convicted, the actress and frequent partygoer could face a maximum $250 fine, per L.A. City Attorney’s Office spokesman Frank Mateljan.

She is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the Airport Branch Courthouse, where she can either contest the charge or pay up.
