Toray has picked its 2009 Swimwear Campaign Girl.

17-year-old Genzaki Tomoe, a third-year high schooler, became the tallest model in the history of the campaign, standing at a height of 175cm.

Genzaki Tomoe, who is also active as an actress, tried out for the same audition last year but failed to pass the first round.

She trained hard to take the title this year, beating out about 200 other contestants.

Every model or actress should take Genzaki Tomoe as example, because there is no easy way to stardom.

The female pop group MAX is going back to its roots.

Former lead singer MINA is returning to the group after an absence of six years, reuniting the unit’s four original members.

They already have plans for a new release and a reunion concert.

MINA left the group in 2002 due to her unexpected pregnancy and marriage, and she was replaced by singer AKI.

However, AKI withdrew from the group this past August to pursue a solo career, reducing MAX to three members.

SMAP member Kimura Takuya recently had an attempted break-in at his home, it was revealed on Thursday.

According to police in Tokyo’s Meguro ward, the security alarm at Kimura Takuya’s home was set off at around 7:30pm on October 19.

Police arrived on the scene and discovered evidence of attempted trespass around a second-story window.

Kimura Takuya was not at home at the time.

Police highly suspect that the culprit may be a thief, though nothing was stolen this time and no damages have been claimed.

A similar incident occurred in the same vicinity this past May, when someone broke a glass window at the home of comedian Matsumoto Hitoshi.

Dreams Come True’s new single “Tsuretette Tsuretette” goes on sale on November 12, and to help promote it, the duo has recruited actress Miyazaki Aoi to star in the song’s music video.

The last music video that Miyazaki Aoi appeared in was Kinmokusei’s “Fuyu no Jishaku” in 2005.

It was announced a couple weeks ago that mangaka Umino Chika was drawing the CD jacket and a manga-like insert booklet for the single.

The manga’s motif was a fantasy love story between a young woman and a snowman, and that motif has been carried over into the video.

Filming took place during the middle of this month.

Model Oshikiri Moe suffered a minor injury due to a traffic accident on Wednesday night.

She was riding a taxi in the Aoyama district, and while stopped at a red light, she was rear-ended by another taxi.

Oshikiri Moe reportedly hurt her neck in the incident.

To all her fans right now, you can always pray for her health recovery.

The latest issue of Josei Seven reports that actress Takizawa Saori (27) is in a relationship with actor Watanabe Kunito (24).

In mid-October, the two were seen leaving Takizawa Saori’s apartment and eating at a nearby ramen restaurant.

After their meal, they headed back to her place while holding hands.

Takizawa Saori has been cast in numerous supporting roles in television dramas.

Since “Pride” in early 2004, she has appeared in at least one drama series during each of the last 20 seasons.

The entertainment world was taken by surprise on Thursday with the sudden marriage announcement of model-actress Hasegawa Kyoko (30) and Porno Graffiti guitarist Shindo Haruichi (34).

The pair broke the news on their official websites, revealing that Shindo turned in the marriage registration earlier that day.

However, there are no plans yet for a wedding ceremony.

Hasegawa and Shindo barely met this past spring through a mutual friend.

They began seriously dating in July with marriage in mind, and Shindo Haruichi proposed at the start of this month.

They made their formal visits to each other’s parents last week.

Actress Yun Eun Hye ( Yoon Eun Hye ) will hold her first fan meeting in Japan next month.

The title of the fan meeting, to be held at the Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on September 19, is “Birthday.”

Yoon Eun Hye plans to thank her Japanese fans who visited Korea every year to celebrate her birthday with her.

The former singer, who made her acting debut through the popular drama series “Gung,” or “Palace,” stole the hearts of her Japanese fans once again through her role in “‘Coffee Prince.”

During the upcoming two-hour fan meeting, Yun Eun Hye plans to show her fans a never-before-revealed video, host a talk show and personally shake hands with around 2,000 fans.

“Hwang Jin Yi,” a history drama series on KBS 2TV starring Ha Ji Won, will be broadcast in Japan on NHK’s landwave channel.

Wellmade Star M said on August 5 that Hwang Jin Yi will air every Saturday at 11:10 p.m. beginning October 11.

The drama series was first aired on NHK’s satellite channel BS2 from April and posted the number one viewer rating out of all the programs aired during the same time slot.

An NHK official said it was rare for a show to be moved from a satellite channel to a landwave channel.

Meanwhile, Ha Ji Won has become hugely popular in Japan thanks to her two other popular drama series “Damo” and “What Happened in Bali.” She held her first fan meeting in Japan in May.
