celina jaitleyMumbai, (IANS) Celina Jaitley plays a traditional Tamil housewife in Rohit Shetty’s “Phir Golmaal” - complete with a nine-yard sari, flowers in her hair and “aiyyo appas” to boot.

She seems to have come a long way from her bikini-in-the-water avatar in Feroz Khan’s “Janasheen”.

“I guess that’s true. For a long time, I couldn’t find my bearings in Mumbai.

I was too busy sorting out my life. And the opportunities just slipped past me. I had to take what was coming my way,” Celina Jaitley told IANS.

But seeing Celina draped in a sari requires a lot of imagination.

Sushmita Sen Falls Foul of Culture Police in Tamil Nadu

sushmita senChennai, Former Miss Universe and Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen is the latest star in the crosshairs of culture cops in Tamil Nadu.

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has issued a notice to the actor on a petition that termed her comments propagated through newspapers and television “lewd”.

Lawyer Girish Kumar, in his petition, said the Tamil newspapers had quoted the actress in a television interview saying: “No Indian has chastity or virginity any more. Having pre-marital or post-marital affair(s) is nothing wrong in the society nowadays.”

He sought to prosecute the actress under IPC Sections 292, 292B, 293 and 294, (all pertaining to obscenity in print, words and songs), 499 and 500 (which relate to defamation), besides Sections 3, 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act and 2, 3 and 6 of the Young Persons Harmful Publication Act.

Sameera Reddy to Lead Vaaranam Aayiram

sameera reddyBollywood actress Sameera Reddy will reportedly play the female lead in director Gautham Menon’s Tamil film ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’.

There has been much shuffling in the cast of Vaaranam Aayiram (means ‘A Thousand Elephants’).

First, Bollywood newcomer Deepika Padukone was considered to play the lead opposite the film’s hero Surya.

After Deepika Padukone, Genelia was finalized for the part, but she too bowed out of the project for reasons better known to herself.

Now, director Gautham Menon is reported to have finalized and signed Sameera Reddy.
