Last month, police arrested former adult actress Risa Coda and pro tennis player Miyao Joji on charges of drug possession.
On Wednesday, the first hearing in Coda’s trial was held in Tokyo District Court, and she was found guilty of the charges.
She was given a sentence of 18 months, suspended for 3 years.
According to Coda Risa’s testimony, she had started using the drugs last year due to a combination of factors, including her grandfather’s death and her breakup with her boyfriend.
Since her retirement from the AV industry this past February, she has been supporting herself with a job as a cabaret club hostess.

22-year-old talento Hori Akari and 29-year-old professional jockey Ikezoe Kenichi recently got married, it was learned on Wednesday.
They registered their marriage on Tuesday after only about eight months of dating.
Hori Akari is three months pregnant.
Hori Akari, a 4th-year student at Ritsumeikan University, is active as an idol, actress, and sportscaster.
She met Ikezoe Kenichi in April through a common friend, and they soon started dating.

SMAP’s Nakai Masahiro has once again been selected by TBS to serve as the main caster for its Olympics coverage, making it his third consecutive appointment to that role.
Along with that comes the announcement that SMAP will be singing the theme song, titled “Kono Toki, Kitto Yume Janai.”
Written and composed by Hi-Fi CAMP, the song will be SMAP’s 43rd single.
“Kono Toki” goes on sale August 13, the same day that Japan’s baseball team faces Cuba in the opening match of the Olympics.
Cuba ended up winning the gold medal in 2004, while Japan took home the bronze.

It was revealed on Monday that former Coconuts Musume member Kimura Ayaka (26) is married to successful professional golfer Tanihara Hideto (29).
The two had been dating for half a year before registering their marriage on July 8. They plan to hold a ceremony and reception soon.
The couple first met last October at a pro-amateur golf tournament in Hyogo, where Kimura Ayaka is from. (Golf is one of Kimura Ayaka’s hobbies, with her best score said to be 108.)
After meeting, the two kept in touch, and they had their first date at the start of this year.
As a golfer, Tanihara Hideto has won 7 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour and has competed in international tournaments.

TV Asahi is the latest network to announce the theme song for their Olympic Games coverage.
Popular singer Fukuyama Masaharu is providing a tune called “HIGHER STAGE,” which he says is inspired by athletes such as swimmer Kitajima Kosuke and weightlifter Miyake Hiromi.
In addition, Fukuyama Masaharu will be serving as an official cameraman for TV Asahi’s broadcasts of the Games, like he did in 2000 and 2004.
“HIGHER STAGE” is expected to go on sale this autumn.

Remioromen’s next single is being used by Fuji TV as the official theme song of their Olympic Games coverage.
The song, a ballad titled “Motto Tooku e,” will be released on July 30.
The single’s B-side is “Orchestra,” which is also tied in to the Olympics.
