
GLAY’s new song “STARLESS NIGHT” will be used as the image song for NTV’s soccer programming, including the regularly scheduled “Soccer Earth Monthly” and the network’s coverage of major soccer matches.
The band has a history with soccer, as both TERU and TAKURO were part of the soccer team in middle school and high school, and all four band members are big fans of the sport.

Katrina Kaif joins the list of celebrities associated with Indian Premier League cricket teams.
The gorgeous actress will support Vijay Mallya’s Bangalore team.
“Let me clarify that Katrina is the face of Vijay Mallya’s cricket team but not a brand ambassador to his Royal Challenge products,” said a source close to the actress.
The actress, who sizzled in the recently released thriller “Race”, will be shooting an exclusive solo music video for Mallya’s team to be directed by Sanjay Gupta.
After starring in four hits last year, Katrina today ranks amongst the top league of actresses.
Her next release is “Singh is King”.

Teen actress Minamisawa Nao has been given the lead female role in the movie “Shakariki!,” which is based on a Soda Masahito manga about bicycle racing.
It was announced last month that the film will star D-BOYS actors Endo Yuya, Nakamura Yuichi, and Suzuki Hiroki.
Minamisawa Nao plays Nagata Sakura, a classmate of the protagonist Teru (Endo).
She becomes the manager of their school’s bicycle club, which Teru is trying to revive.
The movie, directed by Ono Shinsuke, is scheduled to open in theaters this fall.

Arashi’s Sakurai Sho has been appointed as the main caster for NTV’s coverage of the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Akashiya Sanma will be an additional caster, while commentating will be done by baseball critic Nakahata Kiyoshi, archer Yamamoto Hiroshi (who won the silver medal at the 2004 Games), and retired soccer player Jo Shoji.
With all the problems and scandals in China right now. People can only hope that the sports will be held as plan.
It has been a good thing to do. Just want to see athletes compete with each other with a good sportsmanship.

This certainly isn’t cricket. Actress Celina Jaitley alleged that cricketers from across the border abused her after she performed at the Indian Cricket League (ICL) match between Pakistan and India.
On Sunday, Celina had finished her performance and was taking what she calls a “glory round” with her security personnel around the stadium, when she heard loud abuses in Hindi coming out of the players’ enclosure.
“At first I couldn’t believe where it was coming from.
I still want to give them the benefit of doubt because it’s so hard to believe they could behave this way,” she said with a shudder, recalling that she wanted to rush back to her car and drive away from the nightmare.

Actress Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Indian Premier League’s Mohali team, suffered a minor injury during its formal launch in Mohali, on the outskirts of Chandigarh.
“I don’t know how it happened,” said Preity Zinta.
“But in the melee at the launch (Monday), an elbow came and hit me straight in the eye.
I had to go through the event with a black eye wearing dark glasses.”
Eyewitnesses said there was a huge rush at the launch, and somebody appeared to have thrown something at Preity Zinta.

Han Kyung, the sole Chinese member of Korean mega boyband Super Junior is set to proudly bear the Olympic torch, thanks to an online survey conducted by Coca-Cola China, one of the sponsors of the Beijing Olympics.
Fans voted the 24-year-old as the most wanted person to run with the flame and the Olympics organisational committee agreed.
“I’m extremely pleased and honoured to be a torch-bearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics,” said Han Kyung.
Han Kyung was chosen as torch bearer because of his efforts in promoting “the cultural exchange of China” in Korea and the rest of Asia as part of 13-member group Super Junior (or SuJu for short).

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has roped in Rani Mukherjee and Bipasha Basu to participate in his music video for his Kolkata Knight Riders.
Shah Rukh had bought the Kolkata franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for $85 million last month. The Twenty20 competition of the IPL begins April 18.
Preity Zinta who owns the Mohali franchise of the IPL has apparently no intention of competing with Shah Rukh Khan as far as star line up in the IPL music video is concerned.

Preity Zinta regrets that she couldn’t get Harbhajan Singh in her Mohali team for the Indian Premier League (IPL). After all, both of them have their roots in Chandigarh.
“I felt bad that we couldn’t get Harbhajan Singh on board. It would have been nice to have him on board as he is from Chandigarh.
But Mumbai went all out for him, and so did we. But at least the good thing is, he got paid really well,” Preity told IANS in an interview.
