Leila Tong Finds Home For Prop Bunny

Author: sarang | September 1, 2007 - 7:55 am

leila tongEarlier when Leila finished with her stage production, “Popcorn”, she finally had about 10 or so days to rest.

However, she didn’t choose to relax, but instead went around HK just to help a rabbit find a nice family.

When she was filming earlier, there was a “bugs bunny” rabbit that was used as a prop, but when they finished filming, no one took care of it.

In the end Leila adopted the forgotten rabbit, after many days of searching, she still hasn’t found a nice home for it yet.

Leila loves little animals, she has several dogs in her house, and so she can’t keep the “prop” bunny anymore.

She said, “Because I already have my dogs, I can’t put the bunny in my house, or else it’ll become a snack for my dogs.

I’m currently letting it stay at one of my friends place and went to the animal adoption center, but they already have around 50 rabbits waiting to be adopted.

It’s already full, the rabbit has drooping ears that look like Bugs Bunny, and it’s really cute. I never thought it would be that difficult to find a new owner.

When people want a pet, they really need to the carefully, not just because you want it for fun and once you get over it you throw it away. They’re lives too.”

Animals often appear in movies or series, Leila expressed that she will never bring her dogs out to film. She said, “Before there was a series that had a lizard, and the company bought three at one time thinking they can take turns. I was thinking of keeping them after filming, but in the end they all died.”

Besides this she also expressed that although she’s finished with her stage production, but she remembers it today, even being influenced by her character. There was a time when at night she would get nightmares, dreaming out being chased by others.

Leila said, “I’m already hooked, this experience is really valuable. When doing a stage production you really have to be focused, you don’t have NGs for saying something wrong.

Like one time, I accidentally broke a cup, the floor was covered with glass and I had to dance barefoot. That time I was really nervous and unsure of what to do, but the whole crew and cast helped me a lot, immediately adding lines to help me get a pair of shoes, making it look like the plot needed the glass to break.

I really learned a lot, I really want to try again if I get the chance.”
