Industry is abuzz with the recent tiff between Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra.

The two disagreed over the price that Yash Raj Films was offering Karan for the distribution rights of his next film.

“Yash Raj Films has distributed every film that Karan Johar’s production company has made.

Insiders reveal that the price of the rights increased with every released film.

However, the price was still low compared to the those offered by companies like UTV, Eros or Ashtavinayak.

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om was sold to Eros for a whopping Rs 70 crore and since SRK met the big wigs of Eros recently they put forth their proposal to Karan Johar through him.

Since Karan and Aditya have been old buddies, they never spoke about the price openly. But now it is said that Karan is in a dilemma since Eros has offered around Rs 175 crore for his next two films.

One is the yet untitled venture starring Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham, for which he will get Rs 75 crore and the other is the SRK starrer My Name is Khan for which he will get approximatey Rs 100 crores.

Our source continues, “Now Shah Rukh, who is very close both to Aditya and Karan, is trying to mediate between them.

He is speaking to Aditya on Karan’s behalf and ensuring that either Adi increases his offer price to the current market price or let Karan have his way.”
