Kitano Takeshi Honored By Venice Film Festival

In a very strange yet honorable change of events, the Venice Film Festival has created a new award to present at the festivities each and every year.
The new accolade entitled Glory to the Filmmaker! award is named after the latest film from Takeshi Kitano, Kantoku Banzai!, which English translation shares the same name as the new prize. Who better to be honored with the first ever statue than Kitano himself.
The festival, which runs from August 29th through September 8th, will honor the critically acclaimed Japanese director on August 30th.
