Kudoh Youki Long Absense In Japanese Films

Actress Kudoh Youki is starring in a new movie titled “Haruyokoi,” directed by Saegusa Kenki.
It is her first lead role in a Japanese film since Imai Tadashi’s “Sensou to Seishun” in 1991.
Since then, she has been active mainly in the U.S., appearing in works such as “Snow Falling on Cedars.” She returned to Japan two years ago.
“Haruyokoi” is set in the Saga Prefecture during the 1980s. Kudoh Youki plays a woman living an ordinary life with her husband and son.
However, the husband disappears after he accidentally kills someone.
Koshimizu Kazuki plays the son. Filming starts on November 6, with theatrical release set for next spring.
