Maya Karin Proud To Be Malaysian
In 1957 Hati Malaya, Maya Karin took two roles, one is Salmi a photographer, and another one is Normala, a kampung girl with high passion.
Both of the characters are in the era before independence. Maya Karin hopes that Malaysian citizen doesn’t miss the chance to watch this movie.
She also stated that the film that has costed around RM3.6 million, and produced by Pesona Pictures could teach many lessons to people.
“This film is like a history book, we can know how our country got its independence by only watching the film. This way people could understand clearer because all of the scenes was made out of fact”
“I’ve learned a lot through this film. Everyday I got new input. From there then we know that there is so many people that is fighting for our independence,”
Maya is more proud to be a Malaysian after acting in the film.
“After we know how much our ancestors fought, I felt so sad that people nowadays don’t even care about independence”
“Young generations should continue the nationalist fight so they know the true meaning of independence,” Maya Karin said.
