M-Flo Owes Korean Fans An Apology
The Japanese hip-hop duo m-flo left some 2,000 Korean fans waiting for more than three hours Saturday night. The group, however, did not offer any apology or explanation for their delay, disappointing local concertgoers, many of whom were tired of the endless waiting in the sizzling heat of Seoul.
The popular hip-hop duo was scheduled to begin the concert at 10 p.m. on Saturday at a hotel in Seoul. But the concert began at 12:45 a.m., almost three hours later.
Over a hundred enraged fans demanded ticket refunds and a proper explanation for the long delay of the concert. However, SM Entertainment, the main organizer of the event, declined to comment.
Scuffles broke out between angry fans and security guards hired by SM Entertainment, one of largest entertainment agencies in Korea. It later promised to refund those who refused to attend the concert.
“I came here at 7 p.m., and waited here for about six hours. Now I am terribly upset because I had to wait another three hours and see the irresponsible move of SM Entertainment,” said one person who demanded a refund outside of the concert hall.
Composed of Japanese DJ Taku Takahashi and Japanese-Korean rapper Verbal, m-flo is one of the most popular and influential hip-hop groups in Japan. The concert was advertised to feature Japanese R&B singers such as Emyli, Yoshika, Emi Hinouchi, Ryohei, and Lisa.
As if the nearly three-hour delay was not enough, the Japanese duo hurriedly wrapped up the concert in an hour, failing to complete the planned two-hour show.
