devils disciples bosco wong It’s official … the top three spots of a net poll for the year’s trashiest TVB series went to those featuring some of the station’s hottest young stars.

Recently, netizens voted in a poll for “2007’s Trashiest TVB Series” in a Hong Kong Internet forum, and the outcome surprised many.

According to Ming Pao, a Hong Kong daily, the top three spots went to those featuring some of TVB’s hottest young stars to date.

The No.1 spot for the trashiest TVB series went to Devil’s Disciples, starring Bosco Wong, which received 350 votes (about 30% of the total). Besides receiving the bulk of the votes, the series also got numerous complaints during the early stages of its broadcast.

Modelled after Stephen Chow’s mo lei tau (nonsensical) comedic style, Wong’s comical image in the series was not well received and the campy gags were severely criticised. The series concluded with a song and dance routine, and reportedly broke the record for all-time lowest ratings for a finale broadcast.

Life Art, with leading stars Kevin Cheng and Gigi Lai, came in second, with 200 votes. Leung plays an artist who loses the use of her right hand after an accident and Cheng plays an IT specialist who helps her overcome her disability.

In third place with 150 votes was A Change of Destiny, featuring Steven Ma and Benny Chan. The series is a costume drama about a young man who tries to use his fortune-telling skills to change his destiny, but encounters many obstacles.
